Orthodontists and Dentists both work inside the mouth, but did you know their focus is are based on the care they provide?
Dentists determine and focus on standard oral health. They look for cavities and gum disease. They recommend patients on food regimen, hygiene care and look for diseases that appear in or have an effect on the mouth. Dentists take “bite wing” x-rays to isolate a particular segment of enamel as part of their diagnosis and treatment plan.
Orthodontists focus on every patient’s bite. Orthodontists use “panoramic” x-rays to view all of the enamel above and under the gums, and the jaws, all at once. The bite is orthodontists’ region of specialization.
Orthodontists do not require a referral for your child to be seen. Call (262) 255-4922 to schedule an appointment at Germantown Orthodontists today and make an appointment with Dr. Erin Kopick a Board Certified Orthodontist.
